Located in Historic Virginia City, Nevada at 416 South B Street. Pat and Leisa Findley, InnkeepersLeisa was born and raised in Yerington,
a
ranching and mining community in Mason Valley south of Virginia City.
Pat spent his summers while growing up at the family cattle ranch
10 miles north of Truckee on the Little Truckee River. He took
long horseback rides with his grandfather to round up cows that
wandered away.
Pat and Leisa began dating while attending Yerington High School. After graduation, they both enrolled at the University of Nevada in Reno. Two years later, they were married. In 1972, Pat and Leisa sold nearly all their possessions and began a trek which took them through all 48 contiguous states and parts of Mexico and Canada. After returning to Nevada, Pat began pursuing employment and activities leading eventually to becoming licensed as a general building contractor. Leisa became a math and computer science teacher, retiring after 28 years of teaching. Michael, their only child, was born in 1983 and is currently enrolled at the University of Nevada at Reno and will be graduating in May of 2008 with a degree in Geography with emphsis on Geographical Information Science (GIS). Pat and Leisa first bought the Storey house in 1998. While renovating and rejuvenating this building, Pat was always looking over the fence at Edith Palmer's Country Inn. They considered buying it several times, but the time was just not right. Then in the year 2000, they couldn't resist any longer. The renovation and reconstruction began anew. The property again increased with the addition of the Silver Street House in 2002. Then in 2004, the Rule House was acquired and remains under revitalization. What are the future plans? That remains to be seen. |
