Gardens

An avid gardener, Edith Palmer established a tranquil setting for her visitors.  In fact, she was in her garden when she first made the acquaintance of Marilyn Monroe.  She stayed at the Inn while filming of  The Misfits in nearby Dayton.

Gardens

Paths meander throughout the gardens.  In the courtyard, one stump which has sprouted new growth is extremely old.  The stray cats used to have their kittens inside its hollowed out shell until the activity level nearby became too much.  There are several more old trees and shrubs in the gardens as well.  Rock terraces lead the visitor up the hillsides to fantastic views of the surrounding area and overlooking the canyon eastward to the "100 Mile View".
